Surge in Train Accidents; Two Dead In Train Accidents in Ambewela and Mannar

COLOMBO (News 1st): A railway worker was killed during a track inspection after he was hit by a train traveling from Colombo to Badulla.

The accident took place during a routine railway inspection between Perakumpura and Ambewela stations, when a train traveling from Colombo to Badulla collided with him. 

The deceased was a 25-year-old resident of Diyatalawa.

In another incident, a 68-year-old individual has succumbed to his injuries after falling off a train in Sirinawakkulam, Mannar.

The deceased has fallen off the train while trying to get down from the train after helping his relatives to board into a train traveling from Talaimannar to Colombo.
