Road Closures for Easter Memorial Procession

COLOMBO (News 1st); To commemorate the sixth anniversary of the Easter Sunday attacks, special services will be held at St. Anthony's Shrine in Kochchikade and St. Lucia's Cathedral in Kotahena. As a result, traffic around these churches will be restricted.

The police have announced that a procession will take place from St. Lucia's Cathedral in Kotahena to St. Anthony's Shrine in Kochchikade, followed by a special service at St. Anthony's Shrine.

The procession will start at 7:00 AM from St. Lucia's Cathedral, proceed through Bonjean Junction, turn left at Galpotta Roundabout, continue through Galpotta Road, and travel via Jampettah Street to reach St. Anthony's Shrine.

Therefore, from 7:00 AM to 11:45 AM, certain roads in the Foreshore police division will be temporarily closed.

The police request the public to use alternative routes to minimize traffic congestion.
