Sri Lanka Seeks Clarity on US Tariff Decisions

COLOMBO (News 1st); Deputy Minister of Finance, Professor Anil Jayantha Fernando, said that Sri Lanka has held two rounds of discussions with the US Trade Commission regarding the recent tariff decisions made by the President of the United States.

Professor Anil Jayantha stated that a committee appointed by the President has conducted detailed discussions on this matter.

Additionally, the Ministry of Finance has sent another letter to the United States seeking further clarification on the issue.

Despite the significant impact on the global economy, the US President has temporarily suspended the reciprocal tariffs imposed on 60 countries for a period of 90 days.
