COLOMBO (News 1st); A photograph of Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi taking a break from their busy schedule and enjoying king coconut water, has gone viral on social media.
The leaders were captured camera when Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, who arrived in Sri Lanka on the invitation of President Anura Kumara Disanayake, visited the Presidential Secretariat on Satruday morning (05).
Prime Minister Modi is currently on a state visit to Sri Lanka, reaffirming the theme of “Friendship of Centuries — Commitment to a Prosperous Future” which symbolises the longstanding ties between Sri Lanka and India.
The official welcoming ceremony for Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi also took place last morning (05) at the Independence Square in Colombo, under the patronage of President Disanayake.
Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi was ceremoniously escorted to Independence Square with a Police Mounted Guard of honour, following which he was warmly welcomed by President Anura Kumara Disanayake.
The official welcome ceremony for Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi commenced following the playing of the national anthems of both India and Sri Lanka.
The Prime Minister was received with full state honours, including a ceremonial guard of honour and gun salute, in recognition of his state visit to the country. Subsequently, the Indian Prime Minister inspected the Sri Lanka Armed Forces Guard of Honour.
Thereafter, the duo made their way to the Presidential Secretariat where the inauguration and commencement of three development projects implemented in the country with the assistance of the Indian Government took place.
