Vote for Policies, Not Connections - Tilvin

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The General Secretary of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), Tilvin Silva, has outlined the expectations of the National People's Power (NPP) in the upcoming local government elections.

Silva made these remarks during an interview on the "Pathikada" program.

Silva emphasized that the NPP aims to promote principled politics over small favors and personal connections.

He highlighted the importance of voting based on policies rather than familial or friendly ties.

Silva stressed that elections should not be about providing minor assistance or making phone calls to the police to resolve issues. Instead, he called for a focus on legal measures and the establishment of a local government representatives who do not rely on such practices.
