COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Ministry of Defense says that a standard inspection of all K-8 jets belonging to the Sri Lanka Air Force will be carried out.

This follows the crash of a K-8 jet in Wariyapola last Friday.

Deputy Defense Minister Aruna Jayasekara said that the inspection will be carried out on the instructions of the expert committee appointed to investigate the matter.

He also stated that foreign inspection teams would be brought in, if needed.

The investigation into the plane crash is being conducted by a seven-member committee.
