Stock of Ammunition Discovered at House in Weligama

COLOMBO(News 1st) - A stockpile of ammunition was discovered during a raid on a house in Kokmaduwa, Weligama.

According to the Police, the cache included six M16-type bullets, 60 rounds of T56-type ammunition, and nine empty T56 training rounds.

A sword, four motorcycle license plates, a revenue licence, an insurance certificate, and an army weapons training notebook were also seized during the raid.

The operation was carried out by officers attached to the Pushparama Sub-camp of the Police Special Task Force.

Subsequent investigations have revealed that the homeowner is a close associate of an individual engaged in organized crime and drug trafficking activities overseas.
