Electricity Tariff Reductions proposed by PUCSL to Be Implemented, Statement from the Ministry of Energy

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Minister of Energy Kumara Jayakodi says that the recommendations proposed by the Public Utilities Commission concerning the reduction of electricity tariffs will be implemented.

He said that electricity tariffs will be reduced by at least 30 percent in a gradual manner over the next three years.

Additionally, the PUCSL recommended a 20 percent reduction in electricity tariffs, which came into effect from midnight yesterday.

However, the minister clarified that the recommendations have not yet been formally received.
