COLOMBO (News 1st); India and Sri Lanka Have Signed A Grant Assistance Agreement for Police Vehicles.
The High Commission of India in Sri Lanka and Sri Lanka's Public Security Ministry have formalized a grant assistance agreement to provide vehicles to the Sri Lanka Police.
The agreement was signed and exchanged by High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka, Santosh Jha, and Secretary of the Ministry of Public Security & Parliamentary Affairs, D.W.R.B. Seneviratne.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), titled ‘Supply of Single Cabs for use in Police Stations in Sri Lanka’, includes Indian grant assistance amounting to up to Rs 300 million.
The signing ceremony was attended by Acting Inspector General of Police Priyantha Weerasuriya, along with senior officials from the Ministries of Public Security & Parliamentary Affairs, Finance, Planning & Economic Development, and the Sri Lanka Police.
The project aims to supply at least 80 single cabs, along with spare parts and accessories, to police stations in the Northern Province of Sri Lanka.
