3500 Sri Lankans To Engage In Haj Pilgrimage

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Religious and Cultural Affairs has announced that 3,500 Sri Lankans have been granted the opportunity to Travel to Saudi Arabia for the Hajj pilgrimage this year.

The ministry added that the necessary agreements on this have also been reached.

Accordingly, The agreement was signed by the Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Saudi Arabia Abdulfattah Bin Sulaiman Mashat and Sri Lanka's Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, Dr. Hiniduma Sunil Senevi.

The Ministry of Religious and Cultural Affairs stated that discussions were also held on expanding facilities related to the Hajj pilgrimage and increasing the number of pilgrims from Sri Lanka.
