Two Suspects in Possession of Illegal Cigarettes Arrested at BIA

COLOMBO (News 1st); Two suspects who entered the country in possession of a consignment of illegal cigarettes were arrested by the Police Narcotics Bureau at the Katunayake Airport.

According to the police, the suspects have arrived from Bangalore, India, and Dubai.

The police stated that 4,780 cigarettes were found in possession of the suspect who arrived from Bangalore, while 25,800 cigarettes were found in possession of the suspect who arrived from Dubai.

The two arrested individuals are residents of Gonawala and Adhikarigama, aged 27 and 29, respectively.
