Temporarily Suspended Grade 11 Exams in North Central Province to be Conducted Within 10 Days

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Provincial Department Of Education of the North Central Province has announced that the grade 11 examinations that were temporarily put on hold, will be held within 10 days. 

Provincial Secretary of Education Sirimewan Dharmasena says that new question papers are now being prepared.

An investigation into the leakage of the grade 11 question papers of government schools in the North Central Province, has been handed over to the Criminal Investigations Unit of the Anuradhapura Police.

The issue came to light when complaints were made to the Anuradhapura Police by the Provincial Education Department on two separate occasions.

The Provincial Secretary of Education also stated that an investigative team has been appointed to conduct a thorough inquiry into the incident.

As a result of the leak of Sinhala Literature, Science, and English question papers, all grade 11 exams of government schools in the North Central Province have put on hold until further notice.

Provincial Secretary of Education Sirimewan Dharmasena also confirmed that the grade 11 exams scheduled for today and tomorrow have been temporarily suspended.
