Hospitals In Western Province Face Crisis Following Transfers

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Hospital system is facing a crisis following the transfer of paramedics in the Western Province.

President of the Radiological Technologists Association Chanaka Dharmawickrama says there are difficulties in conducting 24-hour services in hospitals due to the transfers.

He added that the Provincial Health Director has ordered the relevant transfers to be implemented from January 1.

Western Province Health Secretary L.A. Kalukapuarachchi says the request made will be considered, adding that the final decision will be made by the governor of the western province.
