Ranil Was Not Informed About Ravi's National List Seat Nomination - Wajira

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Chairman of the United National Party Wajira Abeywardana has denied the claim that Ravi Karunanayake's name was submitted to the Election Commission for a New Democratic Front national list seat after informing former President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Wajira Abeywardana made this clarification in an official statement.

He also rejected claims that an agreement had been made to allocate one of the National List seats, won in the parliamentary election, to a candidate nominated by the New Democratic Front.

He called this statement baseless.

In his statement, he clarified that during a meeting of party leaders, held under Ranil Wickremesinghe's leadership on November 16, it was decided that discussions on the national list seats would take place on November 19.
