COLOMBO (News 1st): The Sri Lanka Navy has apprehended 21 Indian fishermen in the Delft Sea, for trespassing into the Sea of Sri Lanka.
According to Sri Lanka Navy, three vessels belonging to these Indian fishermen, were also seized.
The apprehended fishermen will be handed over to the Fisheries Directorate in Kankesanthurai.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Navy further reported that nine Sri Lankans, including four children, who had illegally arrived by boat from Tamil Nadu, were also apprehended in the Delft Sea.
The apprehended suspects are residents of Trincomalee, Mullaitivu, and Mannar and are members of two families who had recently traveled illegally to Tamil Nadu.
