Unregistered Vehicle Discovered in Kottawa

COLOMBO (News 1st): An unregistered vehicle has been discovered in a garage in Liyanagama, Kottawa. 

Police Spokesman, DIG Nihal Thalduwa says that the vehicle was found based on a tip-off received by the police. 

He says that it is currently in the custody of the Kottawa Police.

Further investigations are underway to find out who used this vehicle. 

Meanwhile, several unregistered luxury vehicles were found in various parts of the island over the past few days.

Former state minister Lohan Ratwatte, who was arrested in connection with the incident of an unregistered luxury jeep being discovered in Mirihana, is currently in remand custody.

Prison Media Spokesperson Gamini B. Dissanayake, says that he is currently receiving treatment at the prison hospital based on court orders.

Meanwhile, former Minister Johnston Fernando was arrested and later released on bail in connection with the discovery of an illegally assembled BMW type car in a luxury hotel in Colombo.
