Nearly 90,000 Officers to Be Deployed for 2024 General Election Security

COLOMBO (News 1st): The police have announced that nearly 90,000 officers will be deployed to ensure security during the upcoming 2024 general election.
Police Media Spokesman, DIG Attorney Nihal Thalduwa, confirmed that 3,200 officers from the Special Task Force will be part of the deployment.
Additionally, 11,000 army personnel have been assigned specifically for the security of government buildings throughout the election period.
The 2024 General Election is scheduled for the 14th of November.
