Seven Iranian Nationals Sentenced to Life Imprisonment for Heroin Trafficking

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Seven Iranian nationals were sentenced to to life in prison today by Colombo High Court Judge R.S.S. Sapuvida.
The conviction is related to the illegal transportation of over 425 kilograms of Heroin in 2019, near Mattakkuliya.
The Colombo High Court Judge imposed the sentence following their guilty plea.
The suspects were arrested on July 12, 2019, by the Police Narcotics Bureau while transporting the Heroin in Mattakkuliya.
