He further assured that plans are in place to address any emergency situations that may arise.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission of Sri Lanka has decided that voters will be marked on their left thumb during this election.
The Election Commission said that this measure was taken to address potential issues and confusion that may arise, as voters marked on their left little finger to cast their vote, during the 2024 presidential election.
The Commission further highlighted that if a voter does not have a thumb on their left hand, they may mark on their right thumb or any other finger appropriately.
