COLOMBO (News1st); President of Iran H.E. Dr. Ebrahim Raisi left the island on Wednesday (24) night after concluding his official visit to Sri Lanka.
The Iranian President left the island via a special flight.
Sri Lanka and Iran inked five agreements in Colombo on Wednesday (24) evening, ranging across a wide range of fields.
A Memorandum Of Cooperation between the National Library of Sri Lanka and National Library and Archives of Iran was signed in the presence of the Sri Lankan and Iranian Presidents at the President's Office.
A MoU on Cooperation in the Film Industry between the National Film Corporation of Sri Lanka and Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Iran, was also signed.
A Memorandum Of Cooperation was also signed in the field of Media and Tourism between Sri Lanka and Iran.
An agreement was also reached on a programme for Cultural, Scientific, and Technical Cooperation, Mass Media, Youth, and Sports between Sri Lanka and Iran.
A MoU was also signed between the National Cooperative Council of Sri Lanka and the Iran Chamber of Cooperatives.
Iranian President Dr. Ebrahim Raisi and President Ranil Wickremesinghe held a joint press conference, following the signing of the agreements.
The Iranian President said there is no limitation to expand political, economic, trade and cultural relations between Sri Lanka and Iran.
President of Iran, Dr. Ebrahim Raisi, arrived in Sri Lanka on Wednesday (24) morning to attend the inaugaration ceremony of the Uma Oya Multipurpose Development Project.
