Three DIGs promoted to Senior DIG

COLOMBO (News 1s t) - Upon approval received from the Police Commission, three Deputy Inspector Generals of Police have been promoted to Senior DIGs.
The police headquarters stated that the Commanding officer of the special task force, DIG Varuna Jayasundara, DIG in charge of Crime D.Y. Asanga Karawita, and Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of the Matara and Hambantota Districts Mahesh Senaratne have been promoted to the post of senior DIG.
The Inspector General of Police had promoted these officers with effect from the 27th of September.
