COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka President Ranil Wickremesinghe met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House in New Delhi for talks on Friday (21) morning.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe marks his first visit to India as the President of Sri Lanka, while marking one year since he was selected as President, after Gotabaya Rajapaksa stepped down in 2022.
On Thursday (20), Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar called on Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe following his arrival in India for a two-day visit.
"Honoured to call on President Ranil Wickremesinghe of Sri Lanka during his India visit," Jaishankar tweeted.
During his visit, President Wickremesinghe will meet President Smt. Droupadi Murmu and hold discussions with Prime Minister and other Indian dignitaries on a range of issues of mutual interest.
"Confident that his meeting with PM Narendra Modi tomorrow will further strengthen our neighborly bonds and take forward India’s Neighbourhood First and SAGAR policies," said the External Affairs Minister on Twitter.
President Wickremesinghe will meet with President Smt. Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan
