COLOMBO (News 1st) - Dr. Aruna Jayasekara, the Director of the Maharagama Hospital, has confirmed that repairing has begun for the inactive radiology equipment at the hospital.
The hospital currently serves close to 300 patients daily who require radiation treatment. The Maharagama Hospital is equipped with 5 radiology machines. Dr. Aruna Jayasekara added that the repairing for the machine is expected to be completed within approximately a week.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health has received provisions for the repair of the non-functional CT scan machine at Badulla Teaching Hospital. The Ministry has stated that the Division of Biomedical Engineering Services will undertake the restoration process.
The failure of the CT scan machine in Badulla Hospital has caused difficulties for patients, forcing them to seek alternative options in Monaragala or Nuwara Eliya hospitals.
