Five Arrested in Connection with Ambalantota Triple Homicide

COLOMBO (News 1st); Five suspects have been arrested in connection with the triple homicide that occurred in the Ambalantota area. 

The arrests were made during a joint operation conducted by the Tangalle Division Criminal Investigation Unit and the police.

The suspects were apprehended last night while hiding in the Mamadala area of Ambalantota. 

The incident stemmed from a prolonged altercation between two groups of illegal liquor peddlers, which escalated into violence.

According to police reports, a group of approximately six individuals armed with sharp weapons carried out the attack. 

Three individuals sustained severe injuries and were subsequently hospitalized, where they succumbed to their injuries.

The victims, aged between 29 and 45, were residents of Mamadala.
