Cops open fire at speeding three-wheeler; Suspects flee, and connected to drug peddling

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police opened fire at a three-wheeler in Karapitiya, Galle for failing to comply with the orders to stop.

According to Sri Lanka Police, the officers manning a road block had flagged down a three-wheeler and ordered for it to so.

However, as the driver disregarded the order, police officers had opened fire at the three-wheeler.

Sri Lanka Police said that two people who were travelling in the three-wheeler had fled the scene.

It is reported that the two men were peddling drugs, and were involved in several break-ins.
