COLOMBO (News 1st) - The India Women's Cricket team got the better of the Sri Lanka Women's side in the Women's Asia Cup Finals at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Bangladesh today.
Chasing a target of 66 to win, India chased down the score in 8.3 overs losing just 2 wickets in the process. They were 35/2 inside the first 5 overs, but finished the innings on 71/2.
India's Opening batter Smriti Mandhana smashed 51 off just 25 balls. Her knock included 6 fours and 3 sixes.
Batting first, the Sri Lanka Women's side scored just 65 runs losing 9 wicket in their allotted 20 overs.
Inoka Ranaweera top scored for the Lankan side with 18 runs.
Renuka Singh led the Indian attack with figures of 3 for 5 in 3 overs.
This is India's 7th Asia Cup title.
