Sri Lanka bracing for a shortage of eggs

COLOMBO (News 1st); It is reported that consumers are experiencing a shortage of eggs in Sri Lanka, citing that eggs are not being sold at retail outlets.

Small-Scale Egg Producers held discussions over the matter, with Minister of Trade, Commerce, and Food Security Nalin Fernando.

They had requested the Minister to impose an MRP above 50 rupees per egg. A final decision on this is yet to be made.
