COLOMBO (News 1st); The Minister of Energy, Kanchana Wijesekara yesterday (16) said that unloaded fuel will not be distributed until registration for the National Fuel Pass is completed.
Moreover, the Minister said today (17) that the introduced National Fuel Pass will be upgraded to grant an option for businesses and organizations that operate multiple vehicles to register all their vehicles with the business registration number.
Accordingly, each vehicle will br given a specific QR code after verification.
Meanwhile, another ship carrying 40,000 metric tons of diesel reached the island last night.
The petroleum storage terminal said that the unloading of diesel aboard the ship has already started.
A diesel ship arrived in Sri Lanka yesterday (16) as well.
Moreover, Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera said that a ship carrying petrol will reach the island on the 18th or 19th July.
The Minister of Energy stated that all these three fuel shipments have been paid for.
