Indian woman arrested with Cocaine at BIA

COLOMBO (News 1st); An Indian woman was arrested on Monday (28) night for the possession of 2 kg and 532 g of Cocaine worth is Rs. 90 mn by the Narcotics Control Unit of Sri Lanka Customs.

The officers of the Narcotics Control Unit of Sri Lanka Customs intercepted and examined a suspicious Indian woman who arrived in Sri Lanka from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia via Dubai by Flydubai flight number FZ 547. said Sri Lanka Customs.

During the examination the officer found 2,532 grams of cocaine subtly hidden inside a few bottles of shampoo and the buttons of few cloths packed in her suitcase. T

he total market value of this stock of narcotics is estimated at Rs. 90 million.

The 27-year-old suspect and the drugs were handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau for further investigations.
