COLOMBO (News 1st): The Sri Lanka Transport Board says that bus services will be operational as usual to facilitate voters who will be travelling to polling stations.
Its Chairman Ramal Siriwardena says that all depot directors have been informed in this regard.
The number of buses deployed for election duties is over 1,300.
However, the Sri Lanka Private Bus Owners' Association says that private bus services will be limited upto a certain extent.
Its Chairman Gemunu Wijeratne says that about 3,000 buses will be operational this morning.
The Department of Railways also confirms that train travel will also take place as usual.
