Finance Minister weaving economical fantasies: Anura

COLOMBO (News 1st); The statement by the Finance Minister on paying off every single loan next year is false, says Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

Speaking to media after the debate on the 2022 Appropriation Bill on Friday (10), Dissanayake stated that although the remaining reserves are insufficient to pay off the loans, the Government will attempt to pay off the loans by obtaining more from other countries around the world. 

Speaking further, the JVP Leader said that it will be impossible to settle the loans, yet however, it is important to prevent a situation in which the country cannot pay its loans, a situation where the country cannot import fuel and to prevent Letters of Credit issued by Lankan banks from being rejected.
