Opposition not properly analyzing Budget proposals : Bandula

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Minister of Trade Bandula Gunawardena alleges that the Opposition is not doing a proper scientific analysis of the Budget proposal presented by the Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa yesterday (12). Speaking during the debate on the second reading of the budget today (13), Dr. Bandula Gunawardena said that all the points by other parties are politically motivated, and the Government is being criticized for both implementing and reducing taxes. Pointing out that the basic problems of the country have been given solutions via the Budget proposal, the Trade Minister said that although a popular person elected to the role of the Finance Minister can assure and promise for concessions, the implementation of the said proposals should also be thought of.
