COLOMBO (News 1st); The COVID-19 Prevention Committee chaired by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has decided to discuss with the Education & Health Sectors and recommence classes for the Primary, Grade 11 & Grade 13 students at all schools.
According to the President's Media Division, it was also decided to explore the possibility of recommencing tuition classes as well.
In addition, train services will commence operating within provinces from Monday (25), said the PMD adding that the COVID-19 Prevention Committee had recommended that from the 1st of November only those with season tickets be permitted to travel between provinces, as a preliminary measure to open Inter-Province movement.
The President had instructed officials to add more compartments to trains in order to prevent congestion.
President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has instructed the health officials to commence administering the 3rd / Booster dose (Pfizer) for frontline workers in the Health Sector, Tri-Forces, Airport, and Tourism Sectors from the 1st of November 2021.
According to the President's Media Division, it was also decided to complete the vaccination drive for all eligible children within two weeks.
