COLOMBO (News 1st); The Director General of Health Services Dr. Asela Gunawardena says that it has been decided to give only one dose of the vaccine to school children.
He said that a single dose was sufficient to boost the immunity of school children.
Accordingly, it had been decided at a special committee meeting held yesterday (08) under the chairmanship of the President to start vaccinating school children between the ages of 18 and 19 from October 21.
At present, Sri Lanka has received 32.69 million doses of vaccines, the Director General of Health Services mentioned.
Meanwhile, Deputy Director General of Health Services Dr. Hemantha Herath stated that guidelines for recommencing universities has already been issued.
