Indian Foreign Secretary meets Finance Minister

COLOMBO (News 1st); Foreign Secretary of India, Shri Harsh Vardhan Shringla called on Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa on Monday (4).

The Foreign Secretary and the Minister had discussed in length means of further strengthening bilateral ties to face the present global situation.

Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa had appreciated India's support to Sri Lanka as a neighbour and a regional power and added mutual understanding would further enhance relations.

The Indian Foreign Secretary had assured India's support to uplift Sri Lanka's economy that has been affected by the pandemic.

He said Indian businessmen would be encouraged to explore opportunities in Sri Lanka.
