(Video) Hundreds of Indian Trawlers in Sri Lankan waters

COLOMBO (News 1st); The All Ceylon General Fisheries Federation on Monday (27) revealed that foreign fishing vessels are illegally engaged in fishing in Sri Lankan waters, under the cover of darkness.

Hundreds of Indian Fishing Trawlers are seen in Sri Lankan waters after sunset daily, said one fisherman adding countless complaints to Sri Lankan authorities have fallen on deaf ears.

Sri Lanka's Fisheries Minister Douglas Devananda recently said that the matter was discussed on two separate occasions and an agreement was reached, however, it has not been enforced.

He said a solution will be provided to this issue by the end of the year.
