502 persons arrested for violating lockdown regulations

COLOMBO (News 1st): Police says that a total number of 56,796 persons have been arrested for violation of lockdown and quarantine regulations so far. Accordingly, 502 persons were arrested yesterday (22) for violating lockdown regulations. Moreover, 1509 persons and 757 vehicles were inspected at 13 roadblocks set up at the entry and exit points of the Western Province yesterday by the Police. Meanwhile, Police emphasized that curfew passes will not be issued by Police but rather via District Secretaries and Grama Niladhari officials.
