2700+ COVID cases on Friday (06) & 98 COVID deaths confirmed for Thursday (05)

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka recorded 2,794 COVID-19 cases on Friday (06), said the Department of Government Information.

2,792 of these infections were from the Post-Avurudu Outbreak while the other 02 had tested positive for COVID-19 after returning from overseas.

Accordingly, there are 31,095 people being treated for COVID-19 in hospitals.

Sri Lanka has a total confirmed number of 324,223 COVID-19 cases and 288,307 of them had recovered from the virus.

Sri Lanka's total number of fatalities due to COVID-19 increased to 4,919 with 98 deaths being confirmed for Thursday (05).
