Two student movement leaders remanded

COLOMBO (News 1st); Convener of the Inter-University Students Federation Wasantha Mudalige and Chairman of the Sri Jayawardenepura University Students Federation Amil Sandeepa were remanded until the 11th of August. The suspects were produced to the Kaduwela Chief Magistrate Manjula Ratnayake on Friday (06). Wasantha Mudalige and several others were arrested early on Friday (06) for engaging in a demonstration opposite Parliament on the 03rd of August and causing serious injuries to a police officer.
