Mihinthale PS Deputy Chairman suspended from SLPP following arrest over Child Sex Trafficking

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Deputy Chairman of the Mihithale Pradeshiya Sabha, Lalith Edirisinghe, was suspended from acting as a member of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna with effect from Friday (02), announced the SLPP.
A letter from Attorney-at-Law Sagara Kariyawasa, the General Secretary of the SLPP noted that the Deputy Chairman was suspended from the party following his arrested for committing a serious crime.
The Deputy Chairman of the Mihithale Pradeshiya Sabha was arrested by Police over the sexual exploitation of a 15-year-old girl and he is among the 26 people arrested over the crime.
