Sri Lankan in the cusp of Asian swimming record

COLOMBO (News1st): Sri Lanka Air Force Swimming Champion Roshan Abeysundera today swam from Talaimannar to Danushkodi in India, with the hope of setting a new Asian record. Abeysundera took on this challenge with the full support and guidance of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudharshana Pathirana. He began his swim at the Talaimannar beach at 2 this morning with the aim of taking the message of protecting oceans and the environment to the world. "I am hoping to do this within 35 hours," Abeysundara noted. "I want to spread the message to the world not to dump polythene and plastic into the ocean"
