COLOMBO (News 1st): The Cabinet Sub-Committee appointed to study the final reports of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry to Probe 2019 April 21st Attacks and the Sectoral Oversight Committee on National Security, will convene on Friday (Mar. 12).
The Cabinet Sub-Committee will convene at 2:30 pm on Friday (Mar. 12), under the patronage of its Chairman Minister Chamal Rajapaksa.
The Committee is required to submit its report before 15th March 2021 and according to a spokesperson, the Cabinet Sub-Committee will convene in the next three days consecutively in order to submit the proposals by the deadline.
Members of the Cabinet Sub-Committee have already submitted their proposals and opinion on the said two reports, a spokesperson for the Committee noted.
Upon studying all the opinions and proposals of the members, the final recommendations of the Cabinet Sub-Committee will be submitted to the President, the spokesperson added.
Ministers Johnston Fernando, Udaya Gammanpila, Ramesh Pathirana, Prasanna Ranatunga, and Rohitha Abeygunawardene are the other members of the Cabinet Sub-Committee.
Hariguptha Rohanadheera, the Director-General (Legal), at the Presidential Secretariat was appointed as the Secretary to the Committee.
