The port cannot be listed at CSE; Min. Namal

Colombo (News 1st); Those who celebrated when national resources were sold are not speaking of protecting national resources, alleged Sports Minister Namal Rajapaksa on Friday (29).

Commenting on the East Container Terminal Development at the Colombo Port, the Minister said there is no possibility for shares of the port to be listed in the Colombo Stock Exchange. Speaking further, he said the cabinet must first be apprised of the project and if there is any involvement of the Adani Group. However, Minister of Lands S. M. Chandrasena said the matter was brought to the cabinet and after the presentation was made by the subject minister, there was no reason for the cabinet of ministers to oppose the proposal. He labeled the protests against ECT development as those organized to create animosity between India and Sri Lanka.
