COVID fatalities in Sri Lanka rises to 287

Colombo (News 1st); The Director General of Health Services confirmed four (04) deaths caused by Covid-19 virus infection. Accordingly, the total number of deaths due to Covid-19 infection in Sri Lanka is 287.

01. The deceased is a 49 year old female from Beruwala. She was diagnosed as infected with Covid-19 virus and transferred from Apeksha Hospital Maharagama to the IDH Hospital where she died on 25.01.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia, blood poisoning and a cancer. 02. The deceased is a 43 year old female from Deraniyagala. She was diagnosed as infected with Covid-19 virus and transferred from Teaching Hospital Rathnapura to the Base Hospital Homagama where she died on 24.01.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as acute blood poisoning, Covid pneumonia and multiple organ dysfunction. 03. The deceased is a 76 year old male from Warakagoda. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid-19 virus and transferred from General Hospital Colombo to the Base Hospital Homagama where he died on 24.01.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as acute blood poisoning, Covid pneumonia and multiple organ dysfunction 04. The deceased is a 71 year old male from Colombo 08. She was diagnosed as infected with Covid-19 virus and transferred from General Hospital Colombo to the Base Hospital Homagama where he died on 24.01.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Heart failure with Covid-9 infection.
