Concerns over cutting down trees at Rajapihilla Park

Colombo (News 1st): The "Voice of the Country" Organization has objected to the destruction of trees at the Rajapihilla Park in Kurunegala as part of a development project. "We have brought lentils to be planted in this area," a member of the organization said after visiting the area. Ven. Vallahale Ariyawansa Thero, who arrived at the location insisted that the suspects behind the destruction must be imprisoned. "If the law is not enforced we will engage in a massive struggle," he said. The other insisted that steps must be taken to protect the eco-system in the country without engaging in such cruel acts that harm the environment.
