Colombo (News 1st); The travel ban imposed on Former Minister Basil Rajapaksa by the Matara Magistrate's Court was lifted today.
A travel ban was imposed on Rajapaksa with regard to a case filed under money laundering charges for the purchase of a property in Browns Hill, Matara for Rs. 66 million.
Counsel for Basil Rajapaksa filing a motion in court on Monday (07) requested for the travel ban be lifted.
President's Counsel Jayantha Weerasinghe speaking to reporters said the motion was filed as Basil Rajapaksa is expected to travel overseas and the ban was lifted after considering the fact presented to the court.
