BOI and National Gem & Jewellery Authority Chairmen resign

Colombo (News 1st); The Board of Investment has confirmed its chairman Susantha Ratnayake has quit his post with effect from November 30th. "He took on the role of Chairman BOI with the understanding of serving for the period of one year," the BOI told News1st. It added that Ratnayake had asked President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, who appointed him in December 18 last year, to relieve him from the role "given that the time has lapsed". Further, Amitha Gamage has resigned from his position as Chairman and chief executive officer of the National Gem and Jewellery Authority. Speaking to News 1st, a spokesperson at the authority said, Amitha Gamage had given his resignation yesterday. He added that Thilak Weerasinghe resumed duties at the ministry yesterday, as the acting chairman of the National Gem and Jewellery Authority. Amitha Gamage assumed duties as the Chairman of NGJA. on the 30th of December 2019.
