COLOMBO (News 1st): A special programme is underway to prevent deaths of those who die at their residences after being exposed to COVID-19, health authorities said.
Another ambulance service is in operation in addition to the 1990 Ambulance Service for this purpose. This service is operating from a centre temporarily based at the Mattakkuliya College, Dr. Asela Gunawardena, the Director-General of Health Services said on Monday (Nov. 30).
According to the Director-General of Health Services, two teams are operating centered on the isolated areas, to monitor the health condition of those who are at home.
People are advised to immediately seek medical attention if anyone shows signs of sickness. The ambulance services are available to move them to hospitals, Dr. Asela Gunawardena, the DG of Health Services emphasized.
