11 divisional secretaries transferred on disciplinary grounds - defence secretary

COLOMBO (News1st): Eleven divisional secretaries have been transferred on disciplinary grounds, defence secretary Kamal Gunaratne has said. He made these remarks at a conference of district secretaries at the auditorium of the State Ministry of Defense, Home Affairs and Disaster Management. The defence secretary stressed that officials should pay special attention to deforestation as it had been emphasized by the President recently. He added that the President, during a defence council meeting, had permitted the police to be deployed for apprehending individuals involved in deforestation.
