Ministry of Power confirms 20% Electricity Tariff Reduction

COLOMBO (News 1st): Minister of Energy Kumara Jayakody has confirmed that electricity tariffs will be reduced by 20%, as recommended by the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka. 

He says that this revision came into effect at midnight yesterday. 

The Minister adds that the government plans on reducing electricity tariffs by over 30% within a span of 3 years.
